The area known as Mullica Hill was first settled in the mid-seventeenth century by Finnish immigrants. For most of its history, it has remained a small village in an area dominated by agricultural interests. Today, Mullica Hill is the principal town and seat of government of Harrison Township. The commercial district has become widely know as an antiques and crafts center, regarded for its nostalgic charm. Since 1991, the entire village has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its historic and architectural significance.
